STORY BEHIND THIS PIECE
Crafted in Varanasi, India.
The Banaras Edition embodies 700 years of regal textile tradition, reimagined for the modern collector. Each bag is woven by master Ansari weavers, the custodians of Banarasi brocade — a craft once commissioned by Mughal courts and worn by queens.
Hand-loomed over 120 hours, the brocade glows with real zari — gold and silver threads — in motifs that echo palace ceilings and garden archways.
Only 15 made, each one a wearable tapestry of India’s royal past.
Price tags are never attached, perfect for gifting as well.
SIZE & FIT
Dimensions: 12 x 16 inches
Weight: 650 g
The tapered silhouette celebrates the balance between heritage and modernity. A discreet inner compartment keeps your essentials close, while the twin woven handles rest comfortably on the shoulder.
Finished with a The Gandhi Cloth Co. engraved clasp and tonal lining, every detail echoes the quiet opulence of Banarasi grandeur — designed to feel as timeless as it looks.
MATERIALS & CARE
Woven on handlooms in Varanasi, the silk base is enriched with traditional zari brocade — real gold and silver threads delicately interlaced into the weave, a hallmark of Banarasi craftsmanship for over 700 years.
Care: Handle with clean, dry hands. Store in a dust bag. For longevity, dry clean only — ideally by a textile expert familiar with zari work and handwoven silks.
SHIPPING & RETURNS
